The 17th and 18th edition of Poet/lyricist Basanta Chaudhary’s global poetic journey will take him to Sydney and Melbourne in Australia in the last week of June. He had taken a hiatus after the earthquake that shook the country last year, followed by his father Lunkaran Das’ demise.
According to the press release, Chaudhary will interact with 10 Australian poets and recite some of his translated creations in English in Sydney on June 24. He will also be leading an analytical discussion on the present status of Nepali literature and culture with the Australian litterateurs.
On June 25, at an event organized by satakosahitya.com, a website promoting Nepali literature operated by Nepalis living in Sydney, Chaudhary will recite his poems while Nepali singers will also perform songs penned by the lyricist.
Likewise, June 26 will mark the 18th edition of Chaudhary’s global poetic journey as he’ll recite his poems at the Thorn Beauty Theater in Melbourne. The event is being organized by Nepali Society, Language and Culture (Solangture).
He will be reciting 18 of his old and new poems in the Australian tour.
Chaudhary is then scheduled to travel to Belgium, Russia, and Germany this year to continue his solo poetic journey.
